Power Infrastructure

While many data centers support 50 to 80 watts of critical load per square foot, our data center will support over 225 watts per square foot of power usage enabling us to meet all the demands of our current and future critical load. One exciting feature of the data center power infrastructure is our multiple substation power feeds. This allows the data center to be fully redundant even from a power grid perspective.

UPS SYSTEM:

The first line of defense in the data center is our UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) system, which is fully redundant with three complete parallel UPS environments.  Additionally, our diesel generators come online in less than one minute of any power failure or in the event of any electrical storms to ensure clean reliable power.

BACKUP GENERATORS:

In the event of a widespread and long lasting electrical grid failure, our on-site Cummins diesel generators, each with enough power to run a small city, can power our entire facility indefinitely. Two of our three generators can support the entire facility so even with a generator failure; our facility will continue to operate fully.   Our generators are supported by 18,000 gallon diesel storage caps, giving us several days run time before being refueled by any one of several refueling companies. The generators are exercised weekly to ensure optimal performance.  
  

Network Infrastructure

Our network infrastructure is architected on a multi-layer redundant design utilizing top of the line Foundry and Cisco switching and routing equipment. Our system consists of a core routing layer where we are redundantly peered with three Tier-one backbone carriers. We utilize BGP4 and accept full routes from our peers in order to provide the best routing path through the Internet as well as fully dynamic redundancies. At our access and distribution layers we utilize layer three switches, which are fully meshed through fiber gigabit interfaces. Each customer is partitioned into their own private VLAN separating your traffic from other customers.

Physical Security:

SingleEdge takes it's commitment to guard your information very seriously, and utilizes many advanced security features such as: Camera Surveillance, Biometric & Card Access, 24/7 Onsite Security Guards, Phased Data Centers, and private lockable cages and cabinets.

Fire Detection and Suppression:

SingleEdge utilizes an advanced fire detection system and multiple clean agent fire suppression systems to ensure that customer equipment and our staff are highly protected in the unlikely event of a fire. The systems are frequently maintained and tested to ensure proper working order.

Data Center Environment:

In a modern data center, proper environmental control – cooling and humidity control – is as critical as backup power.  To complement its high density power capacity, SingleEdge provides massive amounts of cooling capacity.

SingleEdge has over (1500) tons of total cooling capacity with nearly (1000) tons of critical cooling capacity and the remainder redundant capacity (a typical home requires 2-5 tons of air conditioning).  SingleEdge utilizes industry standard glycol dry-cooler air conditioning systems and DX air-cooled air conditioning systems in three of its data rooms and an energy efficient 440-ton chilled-water system for its newer data rooms.

All of our computer room air conditioners and air handlers provide humidity control to maintain data room environmental conditions to the most exacting customer needs.
